Bigetron Esports, one of the most popular and successful PUBG Mobile teams in Indonesia, has announced a surprise change in the name of their team, Red Aliens, to Red Villains. This change was made to honor the history of Zuxxy and Luxxy, who were the originators of the Red Aliens name. CEO Edwin Cia, who is also known as Ko Ed, explained the reasoning behind the name change in a statement.
"Red Aliens is a name that was given by Zuxxy and Luxxy and since they are no longer with us, we wanted to honor their history by giving a new name to Bigetron PUBGM. The new name is Red Villains," said Ko Ed in a video on the Bigetron TV YouTube channel.
He also added that the name Villains was inspired by uHigh and Liquid, two other popular PUBG Mobile teams in Indonesia. "Villains is actually inspired by uHigh and Liquid. They wanted the team name to match their gameplay. As for the Red in front, it is my decision, I still wanted to keep the red in front. It is as simple as that," Ko Ed said.
Whatever the meaning behind the name Villains, only the team members know for sure. One thing is for certain, the team is hoping that with their new roster and name, they will be able to bring Bigetron Esports back to its glory days.
"We are excited to start a new chapter under the name Red Villains. We hope that our fans will continue to support us and we promise to bring our best performance in the upcoming PMPL ID 2023," said Ko Ed.
